(More customer reviews)I was looking for a unique gift for my mom and was really excited when I found this charm. I ordered one, along with birthstone crystals for each of my daughters (her only grandkids) and a black silk cord necklace. It looks super cute on the silk cord necklace, especially with the two crystals inside, but due to a loose hinge on the lid and a tiny lip for the lid's clasp (for lack of a better descriptor) to snap over, the lid won't stay closed! I am so disappointed because this pretty much makes it completely worthless. It could be easily prevented by making the lip the clasp snaps over wider, to compensate for potential wiggling in the hinge.
As it is, the lid will fly open while it's dangling on the cord without me even touching it! So I'm left with a dysfunctional gift to give my mom. I've considered giving it as-is and telling my mom I'd like to try to exchange it. But the one I get in exchange can easily have the same problem. I've also considered sealing it shut permanently with a drop of crazy glue. Overall, though, I'm just disappointed that I have to consider these options at all - the lid should stay shut!! Off to search for my crazy glue...
